This week on Earthship Radio the boys of 3Amoviegos trade in their sombreros for powdered wigs as they cross the “perverbial pond” to discuss the circus behind the UK General Elections, Why the royal family exists, taxation and how we could positively change our communities instead of leaving them prey to vulture politicians.

They pontificate on elections in general and why people have become complacent with the same corrupt political charades we’ve all grown to disdain.
Ian shares a story about the Garland, Tx “terrorist” shooting at the Mohammed drawing contest and the fear it creates when the media chooses to present the domestic terrorism script to the public which only further demonizes certain religions.  They talk about different cultures, “The American Experiment” and how fear is a tool being used to control peoples behavior.

Par for the course with this bunch, they skip a little further down the hole toward the urban mystery of marijuana prohibition and the magical powers of this little green gift of the Earth.
They skim the surface of Gnosticism, God and the Devil, GMO foods, A possible “Big Reveal” of hidden secrets to the world, How children are programmed with dogma of the past and How we can progress as a technologically eco-conscious society.  All up for ear grabs on this weeks episode of Earthship Radio.

Shout out to Shelby Cook for the album artwork

Up first is Pilots, a costal love song that is meant to snatch one out of the pockets of chaos and depression; raise each other up when our lights are dim.

One never knows what you’re going to get into when you sit down to write with others, and sometimes it just works.  That’s how they feel about this song, and this entire project.

Selected Lyrics

“If the light inside your heart goes dim,
I will guide you back to love again"

Next is Interstellar Hearts, the titular track that cosmically explores the total randomness and impossibility of planning who you meet and connect with in this universe.

Sometimes life can be a total whirlwind, but that whirlwind can bring you around to exactly what you are destined for.  We’re meant to find love in the midst of the miracle of living.

Selected Lyrics

Were Interstellar Hearts
whenever we’re together,
can’t resist your gravity.
It took a million miles to find you,
stars to fly through,
spark of perfect chemistry.
This is our future,
we’re meant to find it.
We will go further
cause we’re just Interstellar Hearts
in cosmic time.
We shine.“

Third comes Crashing Into Gold, the song that inspired the artwork for the album.

With this song Joe wanted to bring better concepts and positivity to chasing your dreams and crashing into gold.

We’re all meant to pick up our swords and fight ignorance and the shadow of physical and environmental drugs that hide the truth from us.  Pull the curtain back from the Wizard of Oz.  Pursue your goals while maintaining a balance of integrity.

Selected Lyrics

“Count down;
swallow the pill,
now how do I feel?
I feel so light.
Lost, fog,
taking it slow.
Crawl, yellow brick road.
I feel so bright.
Spinning colors keep on twisting;
sparkle over rainbows.
I know the perfect end to
this dream; you were standing with me,
watching while the shadows explode.
Crashing into gold.”

The 4th track is How Far Is Love questions how far someone will go to find love and truth, like a phoenix from the ash.

Against a setting of a post apocalyptic aftermath of human nature, Joe asks what love is among our species, and questions when we are going to acknowledge this higher power over green and capitalism.

Selected Lyrics

“When the sky falls again,
and the dust settles in
and we’re frozen like statues in the snow.
Are we only a trace
of the amber and clay?
We were monsters of ashes turned to stone.
What if this is how it ends?
Will we fly again?
Are we meant to burn away?
How can we expect to stay?
How far is love?
Kill the memories of the past.
We’re a phoenix in the ash.
How far is love?
We’ll rise above.“

Lastly,

Holding You In My Arms

concludes the relatable theme of love with a song that encourages one to escape the chaos, almost like sinking under a swimming pool into the silence.

Joe hoped to leave everyone with the search for truth, self discovery, and the peace that being close to someone you love can be the most important thing in this world.

Selected Lyrics

“Float to the bottom of the ocean floor,
far beyond a mind at war.
There’s a quiet when you’re dreaming next to me.
Show me how you found your way out of this place;
how you made your way out of this maze.
There’s a quiet in the room, just you and me.
How long before I see the signs?
I have to breathe on the other side.
Meet me in the middle of finding out who we are.
Tell me in the morning when I’m holding you in my arms.”

For an album like Interstellar Hearts, life is all about moments and trust.  For Earthship Radio, it’s all about the conversation, and this week’s episode is a great one.

This week on Earthship Radio, Joe gets the RV back up and running so the he, Jennifer and Ian can talk about unsolved mysteries and alien sightings in renaissance paintings.

*Cue X-Files theme song*

Jennifer breaks out the story of the Taman Shud case, also known as the Mystery of the Somerton Man.  Happening in Adelaide Australia in 1948, the Somerton Man was found laying against the seawall with some confusing items on his person, without any sort of identification, a spleen three times it’s normal size and a scrap of paper containing the words “Taman Shud.”

image

The Somerton Man

Over the next few months many other mysterious leads pop up, including a suitcase full of clothes with their tags removed, some orange thread only found in America, the sudden appearance of the copy of The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam from which the previous scrap had been torn, an unbreakable code handwritten inside said book, a woman who was visibly distressed upon seeing the man even though she denied any knowledge of who he was, and theories that this man was a soviet spy.  Quite an interesting unsolved mystery.

Plaster Mold of The Somerton Man

Then Jennifer tells the tale of the "Wow!” signal, a mysterious transmission picked up in 1977 by SETI and never heard from again.  Was it aliens? Who knows, but this leads to curiosities of how long we’ve been intercepting and seeing contact from Extra Terrestrials.

This week on Earthship Radio Joe, Jennifer and Ian sneak into the RV to talk about some very macabre things in very irreverent and hilarious ways.

Beginning with Lesbian sex, they quickly move on to things like “being an accident,” male birth control injections (Vasalgel), and layered alcoholic beverages before taking a commercial break.

“That’s Badass"

Then they get to the macabre, which is Jennifer’s forte.

We hear how she’s so fascinated by these topics that she thinks about it constantly and starts to make up situations in her head in which those things were happening to her.

Then she horrifies the guys with descriptions of the Judas Cradle and the Brass Bull; two torture devices used in the Renaissance period.

And they are two of the most ghastly things Ian and Joe had ever heard of really existing.

They move on to her idea of serial killer postage stamps, starring people like Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker) and then, just before they lose their signal, begin to talk about death by Guillotine.  All on this weeks messed up episode of Earthship Radio.

Jennifer sends a SHOUT OUT to her brother Eric and a Happy Birthday to her niece Gwen (Niblet).

They also Shout Out Weezer for the album Raditude, and send their condolences to Bennifer.

And they invite Aaron Paul, who should be no stranger to RVs, onto the show!

This week in the RV, Ian brings his mum Vivienne on board and learns about the things that make her tick.
Coincidentally, she’s working on her own memoirs so these topics were fresh in her mind. She talks about the things that made her into the very structured style of go-with-the-flow that she seems to have become now, which began at an early age.
Because her parents worked in the foreign office abroad in Lebanon, and subsequently sent her away to boarding school as a 12 year old girl, Vivienne was responsible for her own happiness at an age when it was a big expectation of a person. But she learned how to actually be able to rely on herself, which is a trait she carried on and passed along.
Then we hear about her legendary days doing her own thing, like racing a 2000 Horsepower 32ft. Phantom Powerboat (and flipping it), working in restaurants rather than join her parents in the foreign office, and meeting “Just another American” while working at a rental car company, who ended up being Ian’s dad!
After briefly touching on homeschooling, Vivienne pontificates about how she’s been able to balance the need for structure in a lot of aspects of life, with the inevitable need to just go-with-the-flow. Rebelling against the social norm in very healthy ways, because everything happens for a reason. And ultimately, her secret to a successful life and family was to dedicate her life to her family, like it was her job, and to do what worked best for them, and ultimately her. Because that’s what she was good at!

And boy was she! Enjoy this very special Mother’s Day episode of Earthship Radio.

Once the wine kicks in, they go full throttle toward Joe attempting to explain what the Trailer Park Boys is all about while both pontificate getting around LA in an Uber, The intense judgement of a cat, How to set up a dinner party, The difference between falling in love when you’re young vs. older, Creating your own film reel, The awkwardness of catching dozens of people taking “selfies” in front of the Mona Lisa as well as the unfortunate invention of the Selfie Stick… to which Nora clearly loathes.

Have you ever played with a vocal filter that made your voice deeper, higher or sound like a robot?  Well this week, Joe, Dylan and Ian snuck into the RV and are doing exactly that… Except they weren’t recording the actual filters.  It’s embarrassing.

What follows is a bunch of gibberish and out of context quotes, songs and randomness.  They bounce around from pronouncing Michael Caine “My Cocaine”, ‘Murica, that robotic Neo scream from The Matrix, Low Latency Mode, Addressing Ian’s hiccups, Vanilla Ice, Kissing boys, Making water sounds, “Houston, We have a problem” and finally creating an all new IMAX format while sounding absolutely HAMMERED.  In addition to the filters messing with the sound of their voices in their headphones, the latency of the filter caused unexpected side effects of unnatural slowing of their speech. While trying to keep things connected between speaking and hearing themselves back they sound drunker than skunks.

They close out the evening and serenade us with “Stand by Me” in a number of different styles, “Afternoon Delight,” “Angel,” “Thriller,” “This is Halloween,” “Lonesome Valley,” “I’ll be Missing You” and “All About That Bass”, some several times over, so strap in, on or whatever for this week’s Earthship Radio!

The vocal filter styles we could identify are: demon voices, something somewhat regal, children’s voices, Bathroom/Cathedral.
